The only way is up part 3

I’ve talked about putting all your eggs in one basket in my past couple of post, some of you might think this is a bit extreme but from past experience, as I have also talked about, I know how true it actually is.

The book “The only way is up” is in reality based on this concept and what happens if that basket breaks.

So while we are on the subject lets ask that question, “What would you do if it happened to you?” I want you to actually think about this for a bit, maybe even write some of it down, look deep inside yourself and ask if you could handle it!

It is actually quite hard to imagine not being able to afford basic things like bread and milk, but that is what happens, you have to decide whether you are going to eat or buy shoes for your children to go to school in!

The friends you think you have now will probably disappear pretty quickly if you are broke, you will have a very small if not any social life because you cannot afford to go out! Counting every penny, every time you buy something or even think about buying!

I can’t stress how different life is with little or no income, or how difficult.

BUT and it’s a big but; hopefully it hasn’t happened to you so you have the opportunity to do something about it before it does happen!

Invest in you’re your future by investing in yourself now, dream, do and make it happen, you have the power to control your life. So take control and show the world you are worthy of the life you desire for you and your family.

The Only Way Is Up! Continued.

From my last post hopefully you have questions! That’s good! I did too but to a certain extent I already new the answers because my husband and I have been through a similar situation.

We both worked for the same company, albeit in different sections, in 2007 I was asked to take a severance package because I was on an older contract and therefore too expensive to employ, I did not want to leave but the new contract was shift work on a rota that was flexible over 7 days a week and 24hrs to the companies demands!

This did not suit my home life as I had a small baby and had just come off maternity leave, so I tried to stay on my old contract but the managers made it totally clear that I was to be managed out by performance! So I had no choice but to leave, not the end of the world because my husband still had his job and was fairly well paid.

In 2008 my husband had exactly the same happen to him, the company was cost cutting yet again and old contracts are very expensive!

So there we were no jobs and no income! Yes we had some money from our severance payouts but it was not that much when you have a little one and all the other expenses to think of.

We tried a few home businesses and part time work etc, full time jobs were few and far between at the time so we had to make ends meet as it were. We became self sufficient with a number of income streams including Wealth Masters via Carbon Copy Pro, we are still fighting are way back even now but with fantastic help from Wealth Masters and our team we are well on the way to becoming financially free.

Luckily my husband has found a full time job, and it’s one he can spend time at home helping me with the children and our other income streams.

If there is one thing we have learned from our experience it’s not to put all your eggs in one basket and too make sure if you lose an income you have the back up and ability to replace it or cover it whilst looking for more ways to create the income you want.

There is so much more on this subject that I want to share with you so I will be posting again in a couple of days to continue with this thread!

The Only Way is Up!

For a change I’ve been reading a fiction book rather than a self improvement or inspirational book because sometimes you need to relax your mind and find another world to live in for a while to see what you would change in your own world and on the odd occasion it’s good to read fiction because it can emphasise or enhance certain things within a story to make them more dramatic and hard hitting!

Now the book I’ve been reading over the last few days is by Carole Matthews and is called “The only way is up”, I’ve decided to write on this because of its content and story line.

The story is, What do you do when there’s nothing left to lose?

Lily and Laurence Lamont-Jones had it all: lavish holidays in exotic locations, a top private school for their two children and a beautiful home in the Buckinghamshire countryside.

Then Laurence loses his job, and their house and all their belongings are repossessed. With nowhere else to go, the family move into a flea-ridden council house on a notoriously rough estate and start to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. But will Lily’s dream of returning to a world of luxury ever come true – or will she learn that money doesn’t always buy you happiness.

Now it does sound a bit dramatic and it will probably never happen, but that’s where the stinger comes in, it can and does happen, it can happen to you, your friends, your colleagues or anybody for that matter.

Sit back for a moment and think about what you would do if it happened to you?

What do you think your friends would do or think?

What do you think your family would do or think?

And most importantly what would you do and think?

I’m going to leave you with those thought’s and feelings for a day or two and then I will post again with some revelations and thoughts of my own on this subject!
